Karabaglar Square

Although the project area is on the periphery of Izmir, it is located close to İnönü Street, one of the important living corridors of the city. The fact that it is on the periphery has led us to propose spatial arrangements with multiple sub-sections, instead of making a single large-scale square with a high hard ground. Official ceremonies, festivals, rallies and gatherings are important events of urban life, but they fall into the category of ephemeral events. In an urban design project to be produced in this location, it has become important for us to capture the diversity of public open spaces instead of city squares.
